1. Rated service life (Industry standard)
1) UVA-340 light tube
Rated effective life: 1500 hours
Slow filament degradation, stable spectrum, and more gradual decay under high-humidity conditions (60~90% RH).
2) UVB-313 light tube
Higher short-wave energy and significant filament heat generation result in a shorter lifespan: 1,000–1,500 hours.
Long-term operation in 90% RH condensation mode can further reduce lifespan by approximately 20%.
2. Replacement schedule based on daily usage
8 hours of continuous daily operation:
UVA: Replace every 6–8 months
UVB: Replace every 4–6 months
Full-load operation exceeding 12 hours daily: Cycle shortened by 30%
Intermittent operation (under 4 hours daily): Replacement interval can be extended to lifte time.
3. Three mandatory replacement criteria (Replace the all guoups light tubes if any one criterion is met,do not replace single light tube)
1) Irradiance decay (Most authoritative criterion)
Measured using a UV radiometer, replace if intensity drops below 80% of the initial value, even if the time limit has not been reached. High-precision testing requires replacement once decay reaches 25% (i.e., intensity drops to 75%).
2) Physical aging/Deterioration
Extensive blackening at both ends of the lamp, yellowing of the glass, flickering, delayed startup, or uneven brightness.
3) Abnormal test data
Material aging rate slows significantly under identical conditions, or results regarding color difference/gloss loss show poor repeatability.
4. Maintenance tips to extend lamp life (Applicable to compressor-free, high-humidity models)
Wipe the lamp surface monthly with a lint-free cloth and anhydrous ethanol to remove limescale and moisture stains;
Avoid frequent short-interval switching (maintain an interval of ≥30 minutes) to minimize thermal shock to the filament;
After high-humidity condensation cycles, run the ventilation fan (no-load) for 10 minutes before shutting down to reduce moisture-induced corrosion.Replace all 8 lamps simultaneously; mixing new and old lamps causes uneven irradiance and invalidates sample test results.
