Water selection for salt spray test chamber

Salt spray test chamber must use deionized or distilled water. Tap water and mineral water are strictly prohibited.

Core Water Quality Requirements (National Standard/International Standard):

Conductivity: ≤20 μS/cm (25℃)

Purity: Free of impurities, heavy metals, minerals, and organic matter.

Applications: This type of water is used for preparing salt solutions, sealing tanks, saturators, and water replenishment.

Why can't tap water/mineral water be used for testing?

Containing calcium, magnesium, iron, etc., it easily forms scale, clogs nozzles, and causes uneven spraying.

Impurities interfere with the corrosion reaction, resulting in inaccurate and unrepeatable results.

Long-term use can damage the equipment's atomization and heating systems.
Water Selection for Different Scenarios:

- Preferred: Deionized water (conductivity ≤ 5-10 μS/cm is optimal)

- Alternative: High-purity distilled water (conductivity must meet standards)

- Salt Preparation: 5% analytical grade NaCl + deionized water, pH 6.5-7.2 (neutral salt spray)
